Mary Ayotte-Law earned Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) All-America honors on the balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around in 1981.
In 1982, Ayotte-Law became the Beavers' second ever national champion, in OSU's first year of NCAA competition, when she secured the title on the floor exercise. She added a third-place finish, which remains the highest finish by an OSU gymnast in history, at NCAA Championships to earn All-America accolades as well.
She lettered at OSU from 1979-82 totaling five All-America awards (1981 - FX & AA; 1982 - BB, FX & AA).
Ayotte-Law won the Regional all-around in each of her four seasons and concluded her OSU career with seven top-10 finishes at Nationals and held three school records.
She was named the team's most outstanding gymnast three times and the Corvallis Gazette-Times' Outstanding Gymnast on three occasions. In addition, she was honored with the American Award, which honors the nation's top senior gymnast and is based on a gymnast's career academic and athletic achievements.
Ayotte-Law represented the United States in 1981 at the World University Games in Romania, where she was the highest all-around competitor.
