August 07, 2026 | General
Vice President and Director of Athletics Kevin Griffin addressed the media Friday, laying out a clear vision for Oregon State Athletics as it enters a new era. Griffin, who joined Corvallis from Ohio State, said Oregon State is positioning itself as an aggressive national leader amid a rapidly shifting collegiate landscape.
Griffin outlined several operational milestones ahead of the fall, including 100% national television coverage for Beaver Football across major networks, a launched executive search for a Chief Sports Performance and Operations Officer, and the rollout of "The Beaver Way," a unified brand standard designed to drive performance across every program. He also addressed NIL structure, the Protecting College Sports Act, and potential commercial ventures such as jersey patch partnerships.
Griffin closed with a direct message to Beaver Nation, pointing to the alignment among university leadership, coaching staffs and facilities, and urging fans and alumni to fill Reser Stadium in support of student-athletes this season.
