The Dale Thomas Wrestling Room has given the Beavers an exceptional area to work out. Located on the second level of the newly constructed Sports Performance Center and next door to Gill Coliseum, the home venue for meets, the practice area has two full-sized mats that are utilized for team practices, camps and other assorted activities. It has an area for the team’s athletic training staff to work with student-athletes as well as an array of workout and weight equipment. Fans often come to observe workouts and are able to sit in stands located near the front entrance to the room.
Located to the outside of the Wrestling Room is a casual area for the team’s student-athletes, with couches and a television available for pre- and post-practice.
The practice room is named for legendary coach Dale Thomas, a Hall-of-Famer who collected a school-record 616 victories from 1957-1990.
The Beavers are nearing 100 All-Americans in the program’s history and have a dozen NCAA champions dating back to 1961. Oregon State has sent at least one wrestler to an NCAA Championship every year since 1957 and have finished in the top 10 as a team more than a dozen times.
