Mitch Dahlen

Mitch Dahlen is in his first season at Oregon State in 2026 as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
Dahlen arrived after two seasons at Alabama, where he served as assistant offensive coordinator and assistant quarterbacks coach. He worked alongside head coach Kalen DeBoer beginning in 2020, previously holding the same title at Washington (2022-23) and Fresno State (2020-21). DeBoer described Dahlen as “a critical piece to everything we do.”
Coaching Highlights
• Helped engineer one of the nation’s most explosive passing offenses across stops at Fresno State, Washington and Alabama
• Contributed to multiple College Football Playoff selections, a national championship game appearance and a Heisman Trophy candidate
• Coached four future NFL Draft quarterbacks: Jake Haener, Michael Penix Jr., Jalen Milroe and projected first-round pick Ty Simpson

Playing Career & Education
• Began his collegiate playing career at Utah before transferring to Southern Utah, where he played quarterback for the Thunderbirds
• Graduated magna cum laude from Southern Utah with a degree in business management

The Dahlen family has deep Oregon State ties:
• Father Chris Dahlen played football at Oregon State from 1982-86
• Mother Monica also attended Oregon State
• Brother Matt Dahlen played basketball for the Beavers from 2015-17
