- Title:
- Assistant Coach
The Oregon State women's basketball program completed its staff with the hiring of Megan Dickerson on March 22, 2011. She begins her second season as assistant coach.
"I am excited to announce the addition of Megan Dickerson to our coaching staff. Megan is an outstanding recruiter and a gifted technical coach. She was a highly successful collegiate player and has an incredible ability of relating to the student-athletes that she coaches and mentors," Rueck said. "I look forward to the success we shared coaching together in the past continuing here at Oregon State. Adding Megan, her husband Todd and their children Bailey and Caleb is a great day for OSU Women's Basketball."
Dickerson is no stranger to the current Oregon State offense and defense as she served as assistant coach under Rueck at George Fox from 2006-10, being instrumental in the Bruins' 2009 NCAA Division III National Championship.
"It is a tremendous privilege to be given the opportunity to join the women's basketball coaching staff at OSU," Dickerson said. "I feel blessed to be able to work alongside Coach Rueck again and join in the efforts that he and his talented staff have given to restrengthen this program. Having worked with Coach Rueck previously to OSU, I understand and fully believe in the foundation of his program. My family and I are extremely excited to be moving to Corvallis and joining the Oregon State family."
Prior to her time at George Fox, Dickerson has held a handful of coaching positions at different levels from middle school to the collegiate level after her playing days at Montana State-Billings were over. As a Yellowjacket, she was named a Kodak, Daktronics, GTE and Division II Bulletin NCAA Division II All-American in 1998, adding GTE Academic All-America accolades as well. A three-time Pac West All-Conference selection, Dickerson also participated in WNBA training camp with the LA Sparks in 2000.
She has been inducted into both the Montana State-Billings Hall of Fame in 2004, as well as the Redmond High School Hall of Fame in its inaugural year in 2009.
A native of Redmond, Ore., Dickerson graduated from Montana State-Billings with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 1999. She and her husband, Todd, have two children, Bailey and Caleb.
