Lisa Miller was appointed to the position of assistant athletic director of compliance in August 2018.

Miller has more than seven years of experience working in compliance departments at Georgetown University, Miami (OH) University and Portland State University.

Miller worked previously at Portland State University as an Associate Athletics Director for Compliance & Student Services/Senior Woman Administrator beginning in May 2015. She directed leadership of the compliance office, student-athlete support services office (academics and student-athlete development initiatives) and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

During her time in Portland, she supervised five head coaches, the director of compliance, two academic coordinators and a student services assistant, and directed oversight of the women’s basketball, women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s tennis programs. She also served as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and athletics representative on the Interpersonal Violence Prevention Workgroup, Gender Equity Committee and Title IX/Cleary Act Committee.

Miller spent two years at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, beginning as the Director of Compliance before being promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Compliance. She managed athletic and institutional financial aid, including outside scholarships, summer and j-term aid, SAOF, academic merit awards, equivalency calculations, initial and overall counters and cost of attendance figures

She began her professional career as a Compliance Assistant at Georgetown University in Washington D.C. in July 2012 where she managed student-athlete records, squad lists and CAi data for more than 800 student-athletes

Miller received a bachelor’s degree in communication - public relations from the University of Maryland in 2010 and a master’s degree in intercollegiate athletic leadership - administration from the University of Washington in 2013.

She earned the Faculty Merit Scholarship from Washington in 2012 and was the team captain for the Maryland tennis team and a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative from 2007-10.
