Jessica Shepley was hired as an assistant coach at Oregon State on July 30, 2024, and had an immediate impact in her first season with the Beavers.
She helped continue the success of a women’s golf program that made another trip to NCAA postseason competition. Other first-year highlights include:
Shepley came to Oregon State from Carson-Newman where she was the head coach of the women’s golf team in 2023-24 after previously working at Bethune Cookman and Lee University.
She served as the men's and women's golf assistant during the shortened 2020 Covid season at Bethune Cookman as well as the women's assistant coach at Lee University in Cleveland, Tenn., for the 2020-2021 season.
During her time at Lee, Shepley had the honor of joining the men's program during their postseason play where they went on to win their regional bid and qualify for the Division II NCAA Golf Championship for the first time in program history.
Shepley turned professional after graduating from the University of Tennessee and played eight years on numerous tours around the world, including three seasons on the LPGA Tour.
During her professional career she won five times and qualified for the 2013 United States Women's Open at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y.
Her professional wins came on The Canadian Women's Golf Tour (2), The Canadian Professional Golf Association Women's Championship (2) and the Futures Tour, developmental tour of The LPGA (1). Shepley also had the privilege of carrying the Olympic Torch through her hometown of Oakville, Ontario leading up to the 2010 Olympic Games held in Vancouver, Canada.
Shepley played golf for the University of Tennessee in Knoxville from 2001-2005 where she captained the women's golf team for three years. She had 12 Top 10 finishes that was highlighted by a third-place finish at the 2005 SEC Championship, a fourth-place finish at the 2004 SEC Championship and a fifth-place finish at the 2004 NCAA Championship.
She received NGCA All American honors that same year. During her time at Tennessee, Jessica received All-SEC Honorable Mention, First Team, and Second Team honors.
Shepley was the SAAC women's golf representative for four years and received the University of Tennessee's Female Athlete Outstanding Community Service award in 2004. In 2005 she was Tennessee’s NCAA Sportsmanship Award recipient for her work in the community throughout her time in Knoxville.
She holds a bachelor's degree in communications and a master's degree in sport administration from the University of Miami.
Shepley was born in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. She enjoyed a successful junior career that was capped off by winning both the Ontario Junior and Ontario Amateur Championships. She was also a member of the Canadian National Team. In addition to golf, Jessica excelled in basketball and volleyball during her elementary and high school years.

- Ranked No. 50 in the final Scoreboard national poll.
- Advanced to the NCAA Regionals for the eighth-straight time.
- Dawn Shockley was named the West Coast Conference Coach of the Year.
- Kyra Ly was named an Honorable Mention All-American by the by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA); she is just the second Oregon State women’s golfer to earn All-America recognition, joining Kathleen Takaishi who received the honor in 1998.
- Kyra Ly was named the West Coast Conference Player of the Year.
- Won two team titles – the WCC Championship and the Causeway Invitational – the 15th and 16th in program history.
- Shot an 11-under 853 at the Causeway Invitational, equaling the fifth-lowest three-round score in program history.
- Shot a 10-under 278 at the Causeway Invitational, equaling the second-lowest single-round score in program history.
- Kyra Ly won the individual title at the Causeway Invitational and Raya Nakao won the individual title at the WCC Championship.
- Kyra Ly had a scoring average of 71.88, the best in Oregon State single-season history and the best ever by a Beaver junior.
- Raya Nakao had a scoring average of 72.39, the fourth best in Oregon State single-season history and the best ever by a Beaver sophomore.
- Madde Sund had a scoring average of 73.78, the 14th best in Oregon State single-season history.
- Madde Sund made a hole-in-one in the final round of the Stanford Intercollegiate.
- Kyra Ly (5) and Raya Nakao (4) combined for nine Top 10 finishes.
- Kyra Ly broke three Oregon State records at the Causeway Invitational: best three-round score (16-under 200); best 36-hole score (13-under 131); best single-round score (7-under 65).
- Kyra Ly was selected WCC Golfer of the Month for February and Raya Nakao was named WCC Golfer of the Month for April; it’s the second and third time an Oregon State golfer has received a monthly honor from a conference (Ellie Slama, Pac-12 Golfer of the Month, October 2018).
- Rebecca Kim, Kyra Ly, Raya Nakao and Madde Sund were all selected to the 10-member West Coast Conference All-Academic Team.
