Oregon State women's basketball head coach Scott Rueck announced a promotion for his 2025-26 coaching staff as Jared Vedus will remain on staff as an assistant coach and video coordinator.

"I'm excited to announce that Jared Vedus is staying home and remaining on our staff in this new role," Rueck said. "Over the past six seasons he has demonstrated his passion for the game being immersed in our program as a practice player and then graduate intern. Jared has consistently helped move us forward with an advanced understanding of the game paired with his resourcefulness and curiosity in seeking new and more effective methods."

"It is an honor for me to continue my journey here at Oregon State," Vedus said. "The university, community, and program create a special environment, and I am grateful for the opportunity be a part of this coaching staff. I want to thank Scott for his confidence in me. I'm excited to get back to work with our staff and players to add to the long list of this program's achievements."

Vedus, a former four-year practice player for the Beavers, spent the last two years working on the staff as the graduate coaching intern. In the role, he was responsible for scouts while working with the team's guards during last season's WCC Championship run. He also assisted with video coordination and scouting throughout the 2023-24 season that saw the Beavers advance to the Elite Eight.

The scouting reports Vedus was responsible for during the 2024-25 season included Gonzaga – who the Beavers beat in the WCC tournament semifinals en route to the title – and Boston College.

In addition to scouts, Vedus assisted Rueck and Sydney Wiese with the team's guards throughout the 24-25 season. The team's backcourt grew dramatically over the course of the season. Among the highlights were Ally Schimel shooting 13% better on three-pointers in the second half of the season, Kennedie Shuler managing an assist-to-turnover ratio of 4.50 over the regular season's final 10 games and Catarina Ferreira leading the team in scoring three times en route to earning WCC Tournament MVP honors.
