Gary Traub was appointed an assistant coach to the Oregon State coaching staff in July 2026.
Traub returned to Corvallis after wrestling for the Beavers during the 2021-22 season, when he posted a 22-7 record at heavyweight. He won 18 straight bouts to close the regular season, finished second at the Pac-12 Championships and went 2-2 at the NCAA Championships.

- Oregon State (2021-22): Posted a 22-7 record as a heavyweight, winning 18 consecutive bouts to close the regular season. Finished second at the Pac-12 Championships and went 2-2 at the NCAA Championships.
- Ohio State (2016-21): Competed for the Buckeyes for five seasons, earning an NCAA Championships qualification in 2020 and closing that season with a 23-9 record. Finished his Ohio State career with a 54-26 overall record and eight pins.
- Sycamore High School (Ohio): Left the program as its all-time leader in wins with 138. Went 47-2 as a junior, placing fourth at the state championships, and finished as the state runner-up at 195 pounds as a senior.
