Brittany Harris returned to Oregon State as a volunteer assistant coach in September of 2017.
“It is a blessing and an honor to come back to this program,” Harris said. “I had a fantastic four years here as a student-athlete and I am so happy to have this opportunity to return. I’ve always wanted to coach college gymnastics and this is such a wonderful opportunity. My dad wanted me to come back and get more mentorship from Tanya, so this is like living my dream and his, and my mother is my biggest supporter and best friend, and it feels good knowing I am making both of my parents proud.”
A former OSU gymnast (2011-14), Harris assists head coach Tanya Chaplin coaching the balance beam as well as with choreography on the floor exercise.
As a gymnast, Harris helped the Beavers reach the NCAA Championships twice (2011 & ’12). In 2013, she qualified to the national championships as an individual all-around competitor in 2013.
Harris is pursuing a master’s degree in interdisciplinary studies.
