Nolan Thoroughgood
- Title:
- Assistant Coach
Former Oregon State letterwinner Nolan Thoroughgood is in his second year as an assistant coach for the Beavers. He was named to the coaching staff in the fall of 2023.
Â
Thoroughgood recently completed a five-year career for the Beavers, competing in 115 rounds from 2018-23.
Â
“At this moment Nolan is the perfect individual to help lead our program forward,” Reehoorn said. “Having spent five years together, we know each other well and Nolan knows the ins and outs of Oregon State golf.
Â
“Nolan brings a strong work ethic, he’s an individual of great character and he’s already developed relationships with members of the team. He’s uniquely positioned to help our team to continue to improve because the guys on the team already have such great respect for him.”
Â
Thoroughgood, who hails from Victoria, B.C., averaged 73.69 strokes per round during his OSU career, which saw him compete in 40 tournaments. He placed in the top three times, and tallied 23 rounds under par. Most recently, in 2022-23, he averaged 72.43 shots per round and totaled five rounds under par, including two at the NCAA Las Vegas Regional.
Â
A business graduate, he was a three-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll selection and he was a 2023 Academic All-Region selection by College Sports Communicators. He was also a two-time GCAA All-American Scholar.
Â
“I would like to thank Coach Reehoorn for this opportunity,” Thoroughgood said. “This is a great chance for me to take a passion of mine and use it for my future. I am excited to take the things I learned as a player at OSU and give it back to the team as a coach.”
