- First Interstate Bank
- First Interstate Bank has stepped up all of its philanthropic efforts to address the community challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes donations to food banks and hunger-related efforts across its six-state footprint, expansion of its Neighbors Feeding Neighbors program, and matching regional fundraising for #GivingTuesdayNow. Since March 1, First Interstate has contributed more than $522,000 to pandemic-related philanthropy and has accumulated more than 4,800 volunteer hours. What makes the bank particularly proud, and undoubtedly has created the largest impact, are the efforts of its employees through First Interstate’s Volunteer Program. There are countless stories across the bank that showcase the community spirit of First Interstate employees. General Counsel Kirk Jensen’s family made and delivered 120 sack lunches – complete with PB&J sandwiches, soft fruit, granola bar, and bottled water – that met an entire food bank’s lunchtime needs. Business and Community Liaison Rosalind Winchell worked with Big Sky Senior Services to connect lonely seniors with First Interstate phone buddies for weekly 60-minute phone calls. Employees in Boise organized grab-and-go meals for children and their families at the local Boys and Girls Club. Each story reflects First Interstate employees’ fearless commitment to community.
