Women’s Rowing

OSU was one of the first collegiate programs to support women’s rowing. The achievements of Coach Drlica and his crews were recognized in 1967 when the Board of Intercollegiate Athletics accepted the men’s heavyweight crew as a varsity sport. Ten years later, Coach Drlica would orchestrate the elevation of women’s and lightweight rowing to varsity status as well. Since that time, Oregon State has built what is now one of the most prominent women’s rowing programs in the country.
OSU Rowing Facilities
2011 marked the successful completion of Phase I of the Oregon State Boathouse.
Phase I of the Oregon State Boathouse Project includes new locker rooms for the men’s and women’s rowing teams, boat storage and a small meeting area. The $1.5 million project, funded by individual donors and the Athletic Department, will aid in the process of making the Beavers’ rowing facility one of the best in the Pac-12 Conference.
Future phases include a new workout area, coaches’ offices, and a team meeting space.
The OSU Boathouse is located at North Riverfront Park off Highway 34, adjacent to Trysting Tree Golf Club.
