Gill Renovation FAQ

What renovations are being made to Gill Coliseum that will enhance the game day experience?
• State-of-the-art sound system
• Upgrade of all first-level restrooms
• Upgrade in seat quality (addition of padding and cup holders) with higher sight lines in Sections A-D
• Addressed safety concerns with installation of hand rails
• Repositioning of cameras to showcase the energy of Beaver Nation in Gill Coliseum
• Rotating the court 180 degrees. Team benches will stay on the same side.
Why are these enhancements being made?
• We want to improve our fan experience with an upgrade in the quality of seats and better sight lines. We also want to showcase our fans and students to the viewing audience across the country, while also making an overall investment in every one of our sport programs that compete in Gill Coliseum.
• We need to ensure Gill Coliseum is up to code and in order to provide the appropriate ingress and egress flow, aisle spacing must be increased.
Why is the court being rotated?
• We know we are in the Best College Town in the Pac-12 and our fans and students are a big reason. We want to showcase the enthusiasm Beaver Nation and the OSU BeaverDam brings to game day (image of new Ralph Miller Court below)

Why is this announcement coming now and not earlier in the year?
• It is important to know that the direction of Oregon State Athletics is to ensure fiscal responsibility in all capital projects. With that in mind, we needed to ensure that private funds were in place prior to announcement. Rather than pushing the project to next season, OSU Athletics felt it was important to create a better student-athlete and fan experience while building off of last season’s momentum.
Will these enhancements to Gill Coliseum impact my per seat contribution?
• Per seat contributions will remain the same for the 2016-17 season. Per seat contributions in Sections A-D will increase to a minimum of $1,200 in 2017-18. Per seat contributions in Sections E and K will be a minimum of $100 in 2017-18.
What seats will be impacted?
• Season ticket holders in Sections A-E and Section K
How will these renovations impact season ticket holders in Gill Coliseum?
• Season ticket holders in Sections A-E, and Section K, will be provided the opportunity to select a new seat location based on Beaver Point ranking.
How I will find out when I am able to select my seat location?
• Your appointment time, determined by your Beaver Point System ranking, was provided in the email you received. A follow up phone call will be made by OSU Athletics to provide you the option to select your seat over the phone or by visiting Gill Coliseum in person.
How does the Beaver Point System work?
• Based on a recommendation provided by the Our Beaver Nation Advisory Board which is made up of passionate OSU fans and Our Beaver Nation donors, we are instituting an enhanced priority point system
• The enhanced Beaver Point Systems awards points in a fair, equitable, and consistent manner. The points system is designed to reward longtime supporters of OSU Athletics while allowing new donors and season ticket holders appropriate benefits and recognition of their support.
• Points are awarded as follows under the new Beaver Points System
– Annual Beaver Points are earned as follows:
– Our Beaver Nation Annual Donation: 3 points per $100 donated for the current giving year to Our Beaver Nation. Includes gift-in-kind and matching donations. (Matching donation points not provided until match is received.)
– Program Specific Giving: 1 point per $100 donated for the current giving year to individual giving programs/sports. Includes gift-in-kind and matching donations. (Matching donation points not provided until match is received.)
– Lifetime Giving: 1 point per $100 donated for lifetime giving to OBN and sport specific giving programs. Includes gift-in-kind and matching donations. (Matching donation points not provided until match is received.)

– Consecutive Years of Membership: 5 points are accrued each year for consecutive membership to OBN at a minimum $100 level. OBN membership points are cumulative, but if a year of membership is skipped or donation falls below $100 level, this category resets to zero (0)
– University Giving: 1 point is award for every $1,000 in lifetime giving to OSU for donations outside of the Athletics Department.
– One-time Beaver Points are earned as follows:
– Alumni Points: 10 points per degree earned at OSU (Max 30). For example, husband has BA, wife has BS and MS = 30 points.
– Former Student-Athlete: 25 points for participating in an OSU varsity sport (Max 50).

– Planned Giving: Beaver Points awarded based off 0.01% of the total gift upon signing of an irrevocable gift. For example: $1,000,000 planned gift * 0.0001 = 100 points
Why is a new Beaver Point System being implemented at this time?
• Over the past year, the Our Beaver Nation Advisory Board, made up of OSU Athletics fans and Our Beaver Nation Donors, researched the best ways to calculate priority points based on a donor’s engagement not only with regards to season tickets, but taking into account all levels of philanthropy. This system was put in place for this type of project, and creates a more equitable way to determine ranking based on multiple levels of engagement.
