Pat Bailey Continues OSU-USA Baseball Connection

ORANGE, Calif. – Oregon State baseball associate head coach Pat Bailey is in California to take part in USA Baseball’s 2015 National Team Development Program.
Bailey, who will be an assistant coach for the Stripes team at the program, continues Oregon State’s connection with the red, white and blue. Eleven different Beavers have put on the Team USA uniform at different levels since 2005, but Bailey is the first coach from OSU’s staff to do so.
Bailey will be working with players at the 17U level, of which 40 were selected to make up the two teams. They will play a series of games this week. The series is intended to prepare the athletes for a potential future USA Baseball national team experience.
Bailey recently completed his eighth season with the Oregon State program, joining Pat Casey’s staff after heading the program at George Fox from 1995-2007. In the last four seasons alone, OSU’s outfielders, who are coached by Bailey, have earned seven All-Pac-12 First Team honors. Included in that group is Michael Conforto, who finished his career as OSU’s only three-time All-American. He is also the fastest former Beaver through the Minor Leagues and is currently playing left field for the New York Mets.
