Calum Hill Joins Men?s Golf Program

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Calum Hill, who played the last two seasons at the University of Louisiana-Monroe and qualified for the 2015 Scottish Open, will join the Oregon State men’s golf program, head coach Jon Reehoorn announced Thursday.
"We are extremely excited and lucky to be adding a player of Calum's caliber to our program this close to the beginning of the season,” Reehoorn said. “In addition to his on-course success at ULM, which includes qualifying for the Scottish Open on the European Tour this summer, in Calum we are gaining an individual who brings a strong work ethic, passion for the game of golf and a strong desire to be part of a successful team and push those around him to be better.
"I would imagine there will be a bit of an adjustment period to a new environment, but I know Calum is excited to hit the ground running and help our team compete at a high level when we begin the season in September."
Hill, a native of North Berwick, Scotland, qualified for the 2015 Scottish Open and recently advanced to the round of 16 at the Scottish Amateur Championship. He graduated from Merchistan Castle School in 2013 and was the British Schools Champion that same year.
During his two years at Louisiana-Monroe, Hill was named First Team All-Louisiana and Second Team All-Sun Belt in 2015 and won medalist honors at the Wallace Jones Invitational. He had a scoring average of 72.40 as a sophomore and 74.06 as a freshman when he was named Sun Belt Golfer of the Month.
Hill signed a financial aid agreement and is eligible to play two years with the Beavers beginning as a junior in the 2015-16 season.
