Three OSU Rowers Earn IRA All-Academic Distinction

DANBURY, Conn. – Oregon State rowers Aidan Daly-Jensen, Martin Forde and Bobby Vernazza were announced among the recipients of the 2015 Intercollegiate Rowing Association All-Academic distinction recently by the IRA Board of Stewards.
For a student-athlete to be eligible, he or she must be at least a sophomore in standing and completed one full year at his or her respective institution; maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.35 or higher; earn an institutional letter; and compete at the 2015 Intercollegiate Rowing Association Regatta.
Daly-Jensen, from Portland, Ore., graduated in June with a degree in electrical and computer engineering and also earned the IRA All-Academic distinction in 2014. He rowed in the Varsity 8 and the Varsity 4+ during the past season finishing his OSU rowing career racing in the 5-seat of the V8 at IRA Championships.
Forde, a native of Mill Creek, Wash., raced in the Beavers’ V8 for the third season in a row finishing 2015 in the bow seat of OSU’s top boat at IRA Championships. Forde graduated in June with a degree in business administration and a minor in economics.
Vernazza, a junior from Redwood City, Calif., set the pace in the stroke seat of the V8 for the second straight season. The 2014 IRA All-Academic honoree is studying biology at Oregon State.
All three rowers were also Pac-12 All-Academic selections.
