Hendrix Selected By Yankees In 4th Round

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State outfielder Jeff Hendrix has been selected in the fourth round, 123rd overall by the New York Yankees in the 2015 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday.
He is the second Oregon State player taken in the draft, following Andrew Moore in the second round on Monday night.
Hendrix has played in three seasons for the Beavers, batting .339 over 136 games. He has collected 26 doubles, 10 triples, eight home runs and 69 runs batted in since joining the program in 2013.
Hendrix is a two-time All-Pac-12 Conference performer, earning the recognition in both 2014 and 2015.
He is the third Oregon State player to be selected by Yankees in the draft, following Jerry Johnson (second round, 1970) and Chris Kunda (19th round, 2006).
The selection is the second of Hendrix’s career as he was taken in the 39th round of the 2014 draft by Kansas City but elected to return for his junior campaign.
