Pickerell Earns Pac-12 All-Academic Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Oregon State women’s golfer Ashlee Pickerell was selected to the Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Wednesday.
Pickerell, a junior from Salem, Ore., earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors for the second straight year for her 3.54 GPA in public health. She was named honorable mention last year.
After transferring to Oregon State from the University of Tennessee in 2012, Pickerell has been a mainstay in the Beavers’ lineup. She played in all 10 tournaments this past season and had a scoring average of 76.41, the 16th best in school history.
Pickerell fired a career-best 2-under 70 in the third round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic and her best finish was a tie for 19th place at that same tournament where she shot a season-best 5-over 221.
An Oregon State women’s golfer has now earned conference all-academic honors every year since 2000 and a total of 38 times since the recognition began in 1992.
In order to be eligible for the Pac-12 All-Academic teams, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.0 or better and must be a starter or significant contributor.
