Beavers and Cowboys Go Home and Home

CORVALLIS – Oregon State Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis announced Thursday five additions to the future Oregon State University football schedule. The Beavers have added a home-and-home series with Big XII Conference member Oklahoma State and three additional home dates with Big Sky Conference teams from the Football Championship Subdivision.
The Beavers and Oklahoma State will meet for the first time in football on Aug. 31, 2019 at Reser Stadium with Oregon State making the return trip to Stillwater Sept. 5, 2020 to play at Boone Pickens Stadium. The Cowboys’ visit to Corvallis will be the first for a Big XII team since Baylor in 1998.
Oregon State has also completed its non-conference slate for 2016 with the addition of the Idaho State Bengals Sept. 17. The ’16 schedule also includes a season opening trip to Minnesota Sept. 1 and a visit from Boise State Sept. 24. The Beavers defeated ISU in the only meeting between the two programs in 2007, 61-10.
The Portland State Vikings return to OSU’s schedule for the season opener Sept. 2, 2017. The matchup will be the fifth in the series with the Beavers winning all four previous games, including the last meeting 29-14 in the 2014 opener. The ’17 season features all home non-conference games for the first time since 1997, that also includes Sept. 9 vs. Minnesota and Sept. 16 vs. Nevada.
The 2018 schedule is also complete with the addition of Southern Utah as the Thunderbirds and Beavers will play the first matchup between the two schools Sept. 8, 2018 in Corvallis. Southern Utah is the lone non-conference home game for the season that includes a Sept. 1 season opener at The Ohio State and Sept. 15 at Nevada.
"With the rigors of the nine-game Pac-12 Conference schedule, It’s very important to have a balance in the non-conference portion,” Beaver Director of Athletics Bob De Carolis said. " The future schedule is a good mix of Power 5 conference members and interesting regional games including our backyard FCS members from the Big Sky Conference."
The current Beavers’ football team begins practice for the upcoming season Saturday, Aug. 8 and opens the new era Friday, Sept. 4 against the Weber State Wildcats in a nationally televised game. Season tickets, along with other enhanced offers, are available for the coming season for as little as $150.
