Moore, Hendrix Honored By ABCA

OMAHA, Neb. – Andrew Moore picked up another All-America honor on Saturday, while Jeff Hendrix became the 26th player in Oregon State history to be honored.
The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) announced its postseason honorees on Saturday, with Moore being named to the second team and Hendrix earning a third-team selection. Of the 26 All-Americans in OSU history, Hendrix is the 16th under Pat Casey since the head coach came to Corvallis prior to the 1995 season.
Moore has now been named to four All-America teams; he’s also a second rounder by Louisville Slugger/Collegiate Baseball and a third teamer by D1Baseball.com and Baseball America. On Friday, he officially signed with Seattle after being a second-round selection by the Mariners in last week’s MLB Draft.
He went 7-2 this season and tallied a 1.91 earned run average. His .200 batting average against was the lowest mark in the Pac-12 Conference, and he struck out 111 batters in more than 122 innings of work. Thirteen of his 16 starts qualified as quality starts.
Moore was named to the Pac-12 First Team for the second time in his career. He was a three-time Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week in 2015 – giving him four for his career. He was also named a First-Team All-West Region honoree on Wednesday.
Academically, his 3.32 grade point average in digital communications also earned him Pac-12 All-Academic Second Team honors. Prior to that, he was named to the Academic All-District 8 First Team.
Hendrix was selected in the fourth round by the New York Yankees after earning his second consecutive Pac-12 First Team selection.
A native of Corvallis, Hendrix batted a team-leading .339, 15 doubles and five triples. He also hit five home runs and was second on the club with 34 runs batted in.
He had 19 multi-hit games and 10 multi-RBI efforts, which both ranked second on the team. He also led the Beavers with a 15-game hit streak and at one point, also reached base in 28 straight games.
