Hendrix, Moore, Harrison Honored By Coaches

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Jeff Hendrix, Andrew Moore and KJ Harrison have been recognized Wednesday by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), which announced its all-region teams.
Hendrix and Moore were selected to the Western Region First Team, while Harrison was named to the second team. The Western Region comprises the states of Oregon, Washington, California and Arizona.
The selections give the Beavers at least one all-region selection for five consecutive seasons. The three selections, meanwhile, is tied for the second-most in school history, trailing last season’s four.
Hendrix and Moore’s selections comes shortly after the pair were selected in the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Moore, who ended the season with a 7-2 record and 1.91 earned run average, was selected by Seattle in the second round on Monday. Hendrix, meanwhile, was a fourth rounder by the New York Yankees on Tuesday. He ended the season with a team-best .339 averaging to go along with 15 doubles, five triples, six home runs and 34 runs batted in.
The all-region teams continue a strong award season for all three honorees. Moore has been named a second-team All-American by Louisville Slugger, was a first-team All-Pac-12 honoree and was also an Academic All-District selection as a digital communications major. Hendrix was named an All-Pac-12 First-Teamer for the second consecutive season. Harrison, who hit 10 home runs with 60 RBI in 2015, was named the Pac-12’s Freshman of the Year and was one just two freshmen to be named to the league’s first team.
The ABCA will continue its awards with an All-America Team announcement on Saturday. Its Gold Glove team will be announced on Sunday.
The ABCA/Rawlings All-America team was first recognized in 1949 and is the oldest All-America team in college baseball.
