Anica Yoo Prepared For NCAA Nationals

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Playing the best golf her career, Anica Yoo is prepared for the NCAA Division I Women‘s National Golf Championships, which begin Friday in Bradenton, Fla.
Yoo finished the NCAA Regionals with a 4-under 70-69-73--212 at the par-72, 6,350-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas and was one of the low three individuals not on the low six teams to advance to the NCAA Nationals.
She is just the second Oregon State women’s golfer to advance to the NCAA Nationals as an individual, joining All-American Kathleen Takaishi who qualified in 1999 when she finished in a tie for 48th place at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Okla.
Yoo has shot seven sub-par rounds in her last six tournaments, including a pair of 4-under 68’s to tie the Oregon State single-round record. The 4-under 212 at the NCAA Regionals was a three-round school record, bettering the 3-under 213 that Takaishi shot at the Wahine Classic in the fall of 1998.
A senior from Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Yoo has a scoring average of 74.53 this season, the lowest in Oregon State history, and a career scoring average of 75.64, the second lowest in school history (Seshia Telles, 75.59).
