D.J. Alexander Selected by Chiefs in 5th Round

CHICAGO – Former Oregon State linebacker D.J. Alexander has been selected with the 36th pick in the 5th round (172nd overall) by the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday in the 2015 National Football League Draft.
Alexander started 32 games for the Beavers over the last three seasons recording 209 tackles including 23.0 tackles-for loss. The Palm Desert, Calif. native tallied two forced fumbles, an interception and 8.5 quarterback sacks in his career. In 2014, Alexander led the Beavers with 12.0 TFLs and finished second on the squad with 70 tackles.
Alexander is the first Oregon State linebacker to be drafted since 2008 when Joey LaRocque was taken seventh round by the New York Jets.
He is just the sixth OSU player ever drafted by Kansas City and the second in 2015 joining former Beaver cornerback Steven Nelson, who was taken by the Chiefs in the third round Friday evening.
Season tickets are available and you can join Beaver Nation for the entire year for as little as $150. The season kicks off Friday, Sept. 4 at Reser Stadium against Weber State in a nationally televised game. To get in on the action go to beavertickets.com or call 800-GO-BEAVS during business hours.
