Gilmore Headlines Beavers in Pac-12 Honors

CORVALLIS – Senior Dani Gilmore headlines a group of seven Oregon State softball players to earn Pac-12 awards, the conference office announced today.
Gilmore earned second team all-conference honors, and was named Pac-12 Defensive Honorable Mention. Redshirt-sophomore Natalie Hampton and juniors Mikela Manewa and Bev Miller all earned all-conference honorable mention, while Alysha Everett earned a spot on the Pac-12 All-Freshman First Team. McKenna Arriola and Lovie Lopez recorded freshman honorable mention plaudits.
Gilmore has earned Pac-12 honors in each of her four seasons with the Beavers. The West Hills, Calif., native was a Pac-12 First Team selection last year, and earned all-conference honorable mention in each of her first two seasons. She led the team with a .360 batting average this season, while tallying 47 runs, 36 RBIs and 10 home runs. Gilmore ends her career with an average of .342, the fifth-best total in school history. She holds the Oregon State record with 171 runs scored and is tied for fourth on the Beavers’ list with 35 homers.
Hampton made her return to the Oregon State lineup midway through the season and made an immediate impact. She finished the season with six home runs and four doubles, despite making just 27 starts.
Manewa made her mark in her debut season with the Beavers, hitting .338, good for second on the team. She also notched 37 RBIs and 34 runs while making 50 starts. She finished the year with five home runs, seven doubles and a pair of triples.
Miller was Oregon State’s ace throughout the season, leading the conference in innings pitched and finishing sixth in the league with 122 strikeouts. Her season was highlighted by a no-hitter against UC Santa Barbara at the Fresno State Tournament.
Everett worked her way into the starting lineup and moved up the Beavers’ order, ending the season as the team’s No. 2 hitter. She hit .316 on the year, and .400 in Pac-12 play. She ended her freshman campaign with 13 RBIs.
Arriola got her collegiate career off to a hot start and didn’t look back. After hitting a home run in her first at bat, the freshman would go on to score 39 runs and steal seven bases on seven attempts.
Lopez started 46 games in her debut campaign and hitting .319 in Pac-12 play. She drove in 22 runs and scored 26 in her freshman season. Her year was highlighted by a grand slam against Washington in the Beavers’ final Pac-12 series.
