Last Game
Elliott Cary’s single up the middle in the 10th inning proved to be the game winner for the Beavers in their 4-2 extra-inning victory over Washington Thursday night. KJ Harrison, Kyle Nobach and Christian Donahue all finished with two hits for OSU.
Win First Game, Win Series
Oregon State’s victory in the first game of the series Friday night could be an indicator of how the series will pan out. The Beavers have won 26 of their last 30 series when claiming the first game dating back to the 2011 season. OSU has won 3-of-4 series this season when that happens.
Winning April
Oregon State’s Thursday victory pushed the Beavers to a 7-6 record to finish the month of April. That gives the Beavers a winning record in their last 15 months during the regular season.
Frosh In The ‘Pen
Oregon State’s freshmen from the bullpen have played a large role for the Beavers over their last two games. The trio of Luke Heimlich, Sam Tweedt and Mitch Hickey have combined for eight innings against USC and Washington. They’ve allowed six hits and two runs - one earned - with 10 strikeouts over that stretch.
Donahue Note
Freshman Christian Donahue tallied two hits in Thursday’s victory. He’s now hit safely in seven of his last eight games, and is 11-for-29 (.379) during that stretch. He has five hits in his last two games.
Singles
• Oregon State’s catchers have combined to commit just two errors this season in 330 chances. That’s a .994 fielding percentage. They’ve also been charged with just two passed balls.
• The trio of Logan Ice, Dane Lund and KJ Harrison have also combined to throw out 20-of-50 (50 percent) of basestealers.
• The Beavers’ 233 all-time wins against UW are OSU’s most against opponent.
• OSU is 6-6 in televised games in 2015; 10 games remain on TV.
• Jeff Hendrix extended his hit streak to eight games with a hit in Thursday’s game.
• OSU has finished with double-digit hits in back-to-back games for the second time in Pac-12 play; the first two came vs. ASU.
