Haun Sets Pole Vault Mark at Stanford Meet
Palo Alto, Calif. – Sophomore Helen Ann Haun set a school record in the pole vault on Saturday as the Oregon State women’s track & field team completed competition at the Stanford Invitational.
Haun cleared 12 foot, one-half inch to break the former school record of 11-7.75 she shared with teammate Annie Sidor by more than four inches. She then was eliminated at 12-6.25.
She was the third Beaver to better an existing top-10 outdoor mark at the meet, which featured more than 3,200 athletes in open, collegiate and high school competition from 109 four-year colleges and many community colleges.
On Friday, Kara Hallock lowered her fifth-best time in the 100 hurdles to 14.34 and Kerissa D’Arpino lowered her fourth-ranked time in the 400 to 56.44.
The Beavers resume competition at the John Knight Twilight Meet at Western Oregon on Friday. Competition starts at 2:30 p.m.
