Four Crews to Race at Opening Day Regatta

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men’s rowing team will send four crews to race at the Opening Day Regatta in Seattle, Wash. this Saturday.
Oregon State, which is ranked No. 13 in the nation for the second straight week, faces a pair of ranked opponents in No. 2 Washington and No. 18 Columbia beginning at 10:34 a.m. with the Varsity 4+ crews facing off.
The Opening Day Regatta is a spring tradition, the only one of its kind, bringing thousands of people to Seattle’s inland waterways on May 2 as boaters celebrate Opening day of the boating season.
The Beavers will have four crews participating in the Opening Day Regatta this weekend including the Junior Varsity 8, Third Varsity 8, Varsity 4+ and Second Varsity 4+.
OSU’s Varsity 8 remains at home this weekend to continue training for Pac-12 Championships May 17.

COURSE: Saturday’s races begin at 10:20 a.m. Paid parking is available at the University of Washington. Fans are invited and encouraged to watch the races, free of charge, along the Montlake Cut. Award ceremonies will take place following the conclusion of the Opening Day Parade at the Conibear Shellhouse.
