Men?s Golf Prepared For Pac-12 Championship

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State men’s golf team will compete for the conference title Monday through Wednesday at the 2015 Pac-12 Championship in Pullman, Wash.
The Pac-12 Championship will be condensed into a one-hour special that will debut on Sunday, May 10 at 11 a.m. PT across all Pac-12 Networks.
FIELD (12): Oregon State, Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, USC, Utah, Washington and Washington State.
COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-70, 7,257-yard Palouse Ridge Golf Club.
BEAVERS’ LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of senior Alex Franklin, juniors Tyler Carlson and Brian Jung, sophomores Conner Kumpula and Kevin Murphy, and freshman Jonas Liebich. This will be the third Pac-12 Championship for Jung, the second for Carlson, Franklin and Murphy, and the first for Kumpula and Liebich.

FORMAT: Three-day, 72-hole tournament with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday and Wednesday. The top-five individuals from each six-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.
TEE TIMES: Monday’s tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. off the first and 10th holes, followed by the second round teeing off at approximately 12:30 p.m. Tee times for Tuesday and Wednesday will begin at 8 a.m. off the first and 10th holes, with pairings decided by order of finish from the previous day.
Oregon State will start at 8:30 a.m. on the first hole on Monday and be paired with Arizona and Colorado.

LAST YEAR AT THE PAC-12 CHAMPIONSHIP: Oregon State battled a tough desert course and howling winds to shoot a 64-over 373-366-394-371--1,504 in the six-count-five format at the par-72, 7,349-yard Gallery Golf Club to finish in 10th place at last year’s Pac-12 Championship.
Scott Kim and Brian Jung led the Beavers on the individual scoreboard as both players finished with a 12-over 300 to finish in a tie for 31st place. Kim went 72-74-79-75 over the four rounds, while Jung posted scores of 74-72-79-75.
David Fink had a rollercoaster tournament by shooting a 9-over 81 in the first round, an even-par 72 in the second round, a 7-over 79 in the third round and a 3-under 69 on Sunday. He finished in a tie for 36th place with a 13-over 301.
Alex Franklin also finished in a tie for 36th place with a 13-over 72-75-77-77--301. Kevin Murphy shot a 20-over 79-73-80-76--308 to finish in a tie for 52nd place and Tyler Carlson finished in a tie for 56th with a 23-over 76-79-80-76--311.
Stanford was the only team to finish in red figures and ran away with the team title with a 2-under 1,438 and Patrick Rodgers of Stanford won medalist honors by two strokes over Cheng-Tsung Pan of Washington with a 7-under 281.
