Beavers Battle Ducks on Sand, Edged 3-2

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State volleyball team continued their spring season Tuesday evening, taking on the University of Oregon sand volleyball team at G3 sports in Corvallis. The Beavers and Ducks faced off in a standard five pairing match. The Beavers were edged 3-2, taking the No. 1 and 5 pairing.
The top pair of Dana Backlund and Kory Cheshire took to the sand last on the evening, but earned an impressive 21-11, 17-21, 15-9 win. The duo previously had success together on the sand this spring, competing as an outside team during a tournament in Hawaii.
Katelyn Driscoll and Sydney Francis earned the second win, playing in the 5 spot for the Beavers, finishing with a score of 21-19, 21-19.
The Beavers will return indoors to continue their spring schedule with matches against Oregon and Washington scheduled for Sunday, May 3. Matches will begin at 11 a.m. with each team scheduled to play each other once. Admission is free for all three matches.
