Women?s Golf To Tee It Up In Napa

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State women’s golf team will play its final tournament before the Pac-12 Championship when it competes at the Silverado Showdown on Monday and Tuesday in Napa, Calif.
FIELD (15): Oregon State, California, Colorado, Colorado State, GRU Augusta, Harvard, Hawai’i, Long Beach State, Minnesota, New Mexico, Northwestern, Oregon, San Jose State, Washington State and Wisconsin.
COURSE: The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6,253-yard North Course at the Silverado Resort and Spa, which was named the No. 16 golf course in California on Golfweek’s “Best Courses You Can Play” list and No. 27 amongst America’s Top 50 Courses for Women.
BEAVERS’ LINEUP: Oregon State will go with a lineup of senior Anica Yoo, juniors Ashlee Pickerell and Chelsea Saelee, sophomore Krissy Peterson and freshman Hannah Swanson.
FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.
TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Monday with 36 holes of continuous play and another shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The Beavers will be paired with Hawai’i and Long Beach State on the first day.

LAST TIME OUT: Ashlee Pickerell fired a career-best 2-under 70 in the final round of the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on Wednesday, March 25 to help the Oregon State women’s golf team finish eighth in the 15-team field.
The Beavers concluded the three-day, 54-hole tournament with a 32-over 303-294-299--896 at the par-72, 6,022-yard Kapalua Bay Course to finish in eighth place and continue their strong play in the spring.
Pickerell was the third Beaver to lead the team in scoring each of the three days after dropping three birdies, 14 pars and only one bogey in the final round. Her 2-under 70 is a career best, bettering the 2-under 71 she shot a year ago at the Pac-12 Preview in Hawai’i, a tournament that featured a par-73 course.
The outstanding final round moved Pickerell 10 spots up the leaderboard into a team-best tie for 19th place with a 5-over 76-75-70--221. She had 42 pars in the tournament, the most of any golfers in the 91-player field.
Anica Yoo led Oregon State in scoring in the second round with a 2-under 70 and finished the tournament in sole 27th place with an 8-over 76-70-78--224. She had a team-high nine birdies over the three rounds.
Krissy Peterson had one of nine eagles in the tournament when she holed out on the par-4 second hole in the middle round. She finished the tourney with an 11-over 78-73-76--227 for a tie for 31st place.
Chelsea Saelee led the Beavers in scoring in the first round and finished in a tie for 47th overall with a 16-over 75-76-81--232. Haley Nist had her best round on the final day to climb 10 spots into a tie for 51st with a 19-over 76-84-75--235.
UC Davis swept the tournament, winning the team title with a 1-under 863 and claiming medalist honors by Andrea Wong with a 7-under 209.
LAST YEAR AT THE SILVERADO SHOWDOWN: Oregon State posted its second-lowest three-round score in school history, a 19-over 883, to finish in fourth place, and ahead of six teams ranked in Golfstat’s Top 50, at the Silverado Showdown last year.
The Beavers concluded the two-day, 54-hole tournament with a 19-over 295-288-300--883 on the par-72, 6,969-yard North Course at the Silverado Resort and Spa to finish fourth in the 15-team field. Only No. 11 Washington, No. 1 USC and No. 20 Northwestern fared better.
Oregon State finished ahead of five Pac-12 teams, including No. 9 Arizona, No. 33 California and No. 35 Oregon.
Anica Yoo had a terrific tournament as she carded a career-best three-round score of 1-under 74-69-72--215 to post the third top-10 finish of her junior campaign with a tie for sixth place. It was just the fifth time in Oregon State history that a golfer has finished a three-round tournament in red figures. Kathleen Takaishi holds the school record with a 3-under 213 at the Wahine Classic in 1998.
Seshia Telles also had a great tournament, finishing in a tie for 11th place with a 2-over 72-71-75--218, while Lauren Sewell and Chelsea Saelee tied for 32nd place with a 9-over 225. Sewell went 75-73-77 over the three rounds and Saelee had scores of 74-75-76.
Krissy Peterson, who competed in her fourth career event and second as a member of the five-player team, finished in a tie for 71st place with a 28-over 82-81-81--244.
Washington dominated the course on the final day, firing an 8-under 280, to win by seven strokes over USC with a 3-under 861. The Trojans were second with a 10-over 874 and Northwestern was third with a 12-over 876.
SooBin Kim of Washington shot a 4-under 68 in the final round to come back and claim medalist honors with a 9-under 207. Lindsey Weaver of Arizona (8-under 208), Jennifer Coleman of Colorado (6-under 210), Regan De Guzman of San Jose State (5-under 211) and Manon DeRoey of New Mexico (2-under 214) rounded out the top five.
