Last Game
OSU lost 3-2 Friday night in the opening game of the series as UO drew a bases-loaded walk with two outs in the ninth inning.
Moore’s ERA Dwindles
Friday’s starter, Andrew Moore allowed just an unearned run in 7 1/3 innings against the Ducks to lower his season earned run average to 1.46. Moore, who has nine quality starts this season, has gone 16 1/3 innings at PK Park without allowing an earned run. In 24 1/3 innings all-time against Oregon, Moore has allowed just two earned runs for an impressive ERA of 0.74.
One-Run Games
Friday’s game marked the 10th one-run game of the season for the Beavers, amounting to nearly one-third of the team’s overall games. OSU is 8-2 in one-run games; both losses have come in road contests.
Saturday’s Guy
Saturday’s probable starter, Drew Rasmussen, has been sharp in Pac-12 action. He is 1-1 with a 2.21 ERA in 20 1/3 innings against Pac-12 foes. Rasmussen has struck out 14 to just three walks in conference games, and has allowed 14 hits. His numbers, of course, are helped by his March 21 perfect game against Washington State, the first in the league in more than 40 years.
Singles
• Oregon State is on its first three-game losing streak since the 2012 season.
• The loss Friday was the first by the Beavers when entering the ninth inning with a lead. OSU is 17-1 when that happens.
• Caleb Hamilton (second), Gabe Clark (third) and KJ Harrison (fourth) all batted in their respective lineup spots for the first time Friday night. Clark’s slot at No. 3 put him as just the second Beaver there this season. Harrison had started at that spot in the lineup for the first 32 games.
• The Beavers are 17-4 when getting a quality start from their pitcher, but 4-4 when an opponent does so.
• Three of the Beavers’ four longest games (by time) have been played over the last four games. Friday’s 3:33 game was just four minutes shy of tying the season-long (3:37) in the finale at UCLA.
