Last Game
KJ Harrison hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 11th to send Oregon State to a 2-1 victory over Fresno State in the series opener Friday night. Andrew Moore allowed just three hits and a run in 10 innings, striking out 10, but he did not figure in the decision. Jeff Hendrix also hit a solo home run for the Beavers, who collected just five hits off four Fresno State pitchers.
Fresno State At Home
Oregon State is welcoming Fresno State to Corvallis for the first time since 1952. The Beavers and Bulldogs met for two games in the postseason that year, with OSU winning both to propel the Beavers to the College World Series. OSU last defeated Fresno State twice during the 1991 season prior to Friday’s home opener. The teams have met just six times since.
First In Home Runs
The home runs by Jeff Hendrix and KJ Harrison pushed the Beavers to 18 this season, which ties Oregon State with Texas A&M for the most in the season. The Beavers leapfrogged Nevada, which went without a home run on Friday.
Hendrix Joins The Club
Jeff Hendrix hit his fourth home run of the season on Friday, giving him a round-tripper in back-to-back games after hitting a three-run shot on Wednesday against Portland. He joins KJ Harrison and Gabe Clark as Beavers with home runs in back-to-back games this season.
First Walkoff Since ‘07
KJ Harrison’s home run Friday marked the Beavers’ first walkoff home run since Jordan Lennerton against USC on April 7, 2007. Coincidentally, Lennerton’s home run also came in the 11th and was also a solo shot, albeit with one out.

• OSU lowered its earned run average to 3.48 from 3.83 prior to Friday’s game.
• The Beavers improved to 4-0 in one-run games this season with Friday’s victory. OSU is 5-0 when a game is decided by two runs or less.
