Andersen Adds Support Staff

Oregon State head football coach Gary Andersen announced Friday the addition of Micah Cloward, Michael Smith and Ian McGillivray to support staff positions.
Cloward assumes the assistant strength and conditioning role for the Beavers after serving in the same capacity at Wisconsin from August of 2013. His association with Coach Andersen dates back to June 2010 when he served as a strength and conditioning intern at Utah State and he was eventually promoted to an assistant director for the Aggies in August 2011, serving until April 2013. He was a four-year letterman football player at Idaho State and Snow College.
Smith joins the Beavers as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. He most recently was a free agent running back with the New York Jets last August. Smith was a seventh round 2012 NFL Draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following a standout career at Utah State. The USU graduate played 28 games for the Aggies, accounting for 1,327 rushing yards and 424 receiving yards. He also was a standout special teams player for USU under current Beaver assistant coach Ilaisa Tuiaki after transferring from Eastern Arizona Junior College.
McGillivray arrives at Oregon State from the University of Missouri, where he worked for the Tigers’ football program since September of 2013 as a video coordinator. He also has video work experience with the Detroit Lions, Portland Trail Blazers, the University of Oregon and Washington State University.
It’s back on the field Saturday for the third practice starting at 11:30 a.m. at Reser Stadium. The approximately two hour practice is open to the public. Fans should enter through gate D, located in the northwest corner by the Valley Football Center. It will also be the first practice in pads.
