OSU Welcomes New Assistant Logan Hoffman

CORVALLIS – Head coach Steve Simmons and the Oregon State men’s soccer program welcomed in new assistant coach Logan Hoffman today. Hoffman, who joins the Beavers after spending a year at New Hampshire, has exceptional experience both coaching and recruiting, and has worked extensively with goalkeepers throughout his career.
“To be certain, I’m delighted with the appointment of Logan Hoffman to the Oregon State Men’s Soccer staff,” said Oregon State head coach Steve Simmons. “His vast experiences at different NCAA Division 1 programs, glowing references and ties to the west make him a great fit for our mission going forward. It’s a crucial time for our program as we want to build on the recent momentum gained. I feel Logan will help us achieve this. We are thrilled to welcome Logan and his fiancé Ashley Funai to Beaver Nation.”
Hoffman ended last season as New Hampshire’s interim head coach, after starting the year as an assistant. He guided the program to a 4-5-1 record and an NSCAA Team All-Academic Award during his time as the team’s top-man, and was instrumental in helping the Wildcats lock down their first top-100 recruiting class in five years.
Hoffman also served as an assistant coach at New Hampshire from 2010-2012, helping the team become the first squad in history to shutout all of its America East Tournament opponents. He also coached 2010 America East Goalkeeper of the Year Colin O’Donnell, who finished the season leading the nation in save-percentage (.902).
In between his stints at New Hampshire, Hoffman spent two years at Wisconsin-Green Bay, helping the Phoenix improve its record by five wins in 2013. He helped Wisconsin-Green Bay lock down an 11-player recruiting class in 2012, six of which would go on to play in at least 11 games during their freshman campaign. During his time with the Phoenix, the team notched marquee wins over DePaul and No. 24 Milwaukee, as well as a draw against No. 9 Marquette.
Hoffman’s college coaching career began in 2009 at his alma mater, Drury University. He spent one season serving as an assistant coach for both the men’s and women’s programs, helping the starting goalie on both teams earn All-Region honors. The men’s squad won a conference title and made the Division II National Tournament with a 21-2 overall record.
Hoffman served as the head coach for the Springfield Demize in 2010, the youngest Premier Development League coach at the age of 23. He also spent time with the Seacoast United Soccer Club and the Fair Grove Soccer Academy, and is the owner of the New Hampshire Goalkeeping Academy.
Hoffman graduated from Drury in 2009 and earned his MBA at New Hampshire in 2014.
