OSU Debuts New Windscreens at Home Opening Series

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State softball team proudly debuted a new addition to the OSU Softball Complex this past weekend during the series sweep of the Stanford Cardinal, as new windscreens were installed along the outfield fence and behind the grandstand.
“I’m very pleased with how the windscreen turned out,” said head coach Laura Berg. “There are a lot of Alumni that deserve to be recognized for their accomplishments and hard work while they played here at Oregon State. It shows the commitment the University has towards our student-athletes, elevates our recruiting and provides a more fan friendly environment for our Beaver Nation.”
The windscreen along the back of the grandstand features the Pac-10 Champion team from 2005 and the 2006 team that made it to the College World Series. Also featured are OSU All-Americans, Erin Capps, Vanessa Iapala, Brynnen Guthrie, Brianne McGowan, Cambria Miranda and Tarrah Beyster. A photo gallery of the windscreens can be found here.
On the year the Beavers are 22-9 overall and 3-3 in Pac-12 play. Dani Gilmore leads the team with a .437 batting average. Gilmore and Sammi Noland are tied for the team lead with seven home runs and Noland leads the team with 33 RBI. Bev Miller leads the pitching staff with a 14-6 record to go with a 3.43 ERA.
The team will return to action Friday, March 27 at 3 p.m. when they open a weekend series against #17 California on the road in Berkeley.
