Last Game
Andrew Moore scattered six hits and two runs over 8 2/3 innings and KJ Harrison hit his seventh home run of the season to send the Beavers to a 5-2 series-opening victory over Washington State on Friday night. Moore struck out 10 for his second win of the season. OSU jumped out to a 4-0 lead and held on for the win.
Home Runs Are Back
KJ Harrison’s two-run home run Friday night snapped a four-game homerless streak for the Beavers. Harrison’s home run was his seventh of the season, which equals Michael Conforto’s team-leading total from a year ago. The home run, meanwhile, was the team’s 22nd of the season, which already eclipses the 2014’s team total by one.
Hendrix Sneaking Up
Jeff Hendrix carries an 11-game hit streak into Saturday’s game, which is the longest streak by an Oregon State player this season. He’s currently second on the team in batting average amongst players with more than 40 at bats, at .376. That trails only KJ Harrison, who at .415, ranks fifth in the Pac-12.
Good At Home
Saturday’s game will mark the 11th for the Beavers in the state of Oregon this season. That will finally catch them up with the number of games in the state of Arizona. No one could blame OSU for being excited to leave the state last Sunday as all five of the team’s victories have come there. The Beavers are 8-0 at Goss Stadium this season, and 10-0 in the state of Oregon. They are 6-5 in Arizona.
At Home Vs. WSU
OSU, which is 107-78 all-time at home versus the Cougars, has won the past two series held at Goss Stadium. The Beavers are 5-3 in conference series against Washington State since the 1999 Pac-10 unification.
Singles
• OSU is looking to keep from losing consecutive conference series for the first time since 2011.
• The Beavers have won 25 of a possible 31 conference series since 2012, which marked the first season of the Pac-12.
• Oregon State’s next victory will mark the Beavers’ 200th all-time against the Cougars. The teams have met 449 times in their history.
• OSU is averaging 2,728 per home date this season; the Beavers have had seven games count toward attendance figures.
