Four Beavers Earn No. 1 Tourney Seeds
Four Oregon State wrestlers earned top seeds for the Pacific-12 Conference championships, set for Sunday at Gill Coliseum.
The top-seeded Beavers are freshman Ronnie Bresser (125), redshirt freshman Jack Hathaway (133), senior Alex Elder (157) and redshirt freshman Cody Crawford (197).
Redshirt freshman Abraham Rodriguez (149) and senior Taylor Meeks (184) earned No. 2 seeds. Redshirt freshman Nate Keeve (hwt.) is seeded third; redshirt freshman Devin Raynolds (141) and senior Joe Latham (174) are seeded fourth and junior Seth Thomas (165) is seeded fifth.
Sunday’s meet begins at 10:30 a.m. with the opening two rounds. Competition resumes at 3:30 p.m. with the consolation semifinals; the championship, third-place and fifth-place matches begin at 5 p.m.
The champions earn an automatic berth in the NCAA Championships, set for March 19-21 at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis. Additional wrestlers could also qualify for the NCAAs, depending on their weight class.
