Quotes vs. Arizona
Head Coach Scott Rueck
On today’s game...
"Another great crowd and a great atmosphere to play in. On a Sunday morning, I didn't know what it would be like, but we still had people in here. The number that jumps out to me [from the stats] is on rebounds. We also shared the ball really well with 20 assists - it was a great team win. We are down to our last four games and we have to continue to get better. We improved on things today and it was good to see the performances of Kolbie Orum and Marie Gulich."
On bench use in first half...
"I thought the match ups were great. I think if you have the opportunity to go to the bench, you should do it and we had the opportunity today. Kolbie has been playing awesome - she's been playing well all year. She is someone who deserves to play, but it can be hard to give people their minutes. Marie typically gets minutes and [Kolbie and her] play really well together. I think going into our bench saved us, especially going into the second half. Our energy was greater because we were obviously the deeper team."
On intensity...
"It's a lifestyle - it's what it takes. This is a team contending for a conference championship at a BCS level. They bring it everyday to practice. We, as coaches, have to bring it and make sure the effort is consistent. Doesn't matter who, where, or when, we need our A-game all the time.”
Sophomore Guard Gabriella Hanson
On how it was playing with all the different lineups…
“It was fun. It was really fun. Just to get different looks and different production from different people was a lot of fun. We were actually talking about it on the bench when Kolbie and Marie came into the game, the game was a little bit faster. No offense to Ruth, but it was a little bit faster and it was a lot of fun.”
On not being 100% recently and the recovery…
“I just had some great recovery time. I am thankful that I got time to rest but it wasn’t fun missing that game and it wasn’t fun not being at my best last weekend. I had great recovery time and was ready to get back into it. My team mates were supporting me the whole way.”
Sophomore Guard Sydney Wiese
On going deep into the bench…
"We all work so hard everyday in practice. It was good to see everybody get a chance to play and see some new faces. Playing with different lineups it was fun like Gabby said. I think people deserve to be out there and everyone deserved it today and we all got it today. I think that everybody stepped up there game and i am proud of how everybody preformed today."
On 3 threes in a row…
"They went down today Gabby set me up well with some great passes. I got some picks set for me and the coaches put me in a position to be successful. I always say that I have the easy job to make the shot and they were open today."
