Volleyball Signee To Play For USA

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State volleyball incoming student-athlete Maddy Gravley has been selected to the USA Junior A1 Training Team. The 10-day program for Gravley and 32 other selected players will run July 17-27 in Tulsa, Okla.
According to teamusa.org, the A1 team is described as the following: “the athletes who participate in this program are in strong contention to fight for a position on the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team in the subsequent year. Participating athletes train as a group for five days before splitting into ability-tiered teams of 11 for the USA High Performance Championships immediately following training.”
Gravley is a 6-foot-3 middle blocker from Santiam Christian High School in Corvallis.
Gravley competed for four years at the varsity level at Santiam Christian. She was named first-team all-league as a senior and second-team all-league as a junior. Gravley led Santiam Christian to 3A state titles in 2010, 2011 and 2013. She was named first-team all-tournament as both a junior and a senior.
“We have seen her develop the last three years,” head coach Taras Liskevych said when she was announced as a signee in November. “We feel she has a tremendous upside to be an outstanding middle blocker in our program. We look forward to having Maddy in our program.”
