Fry, Wetzler On Pitcher Of Year Watch List

LUBBOCK, Texas – Ben Wetzler and Jace Fry own two of the smaller earned run averages in the Pac-12 Conference and on Friday, the two were honored as members of the initial watch list for the Pitcher of the Year, as announced by the College Baseball Hall of Fame.
Forty-seven pitchers dot the initial watch list, with Wetzler and Fry representing two of the five from the Pac-12.
Wetzler is 6-1 this season and sports a 0.68 ERA, which is the best in the Pac-12. He will be going for a school-record 31st career win tonight when the Beavers host Oregon.
Fry, meanwhile, is 7-1 with a 1.95 ERA, which is good for fourth in the league. He is slated to get the start for the Beavers Sunday in the 1:03 p.m. PT series finale.
The Beavers return to Goss Stadium this weekend to host Oregon in the Civil War, presented by PacificSource Health Plans, The Oregon 529 College Savings Network, McDonalds, Wells Fargo Bank and Your Local Ford Stores. First pitch of the series Friday is slated for 7:05 p.m. PT and will be shown live on the Pac-12 Networks.
