Lee Harman To Enter Pac-12 Hall Of Honor

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Lee Harman, who earned both first-team all Pacific Coast Conference and second team All-America honors in 1959, will be inducted into the Pac-12 Men's Basketball Hall of Honor.
The induction ceremony is set to take place on Friday, March 14 prior to the semifinal games at the 2014 Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Harman will join some of the greatest Beavers to have ever played the game in the Hall of Honor.

Harman, a 6-foot guard from Los Angeles, Calif., was a three-year varsity letterman at Oregon State from 1956-1959. In his senior season he averaged 15.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game, leading the Beavers in both categories. He was also made captain that season and led Oregon State in field goal percentage (.439), field goals made (118) and free throws made (138).
In that same campaign, the senior tallied a career-high of 33 points twice, coming against both Iowa and Idaho. Harman added 8.0 points and 1.5 rebounds to his previous season averages his senior year and was voted the Most Valuable Player of the 1958 Far West Classic.
As a junior, Harman averaged 7.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game, helping Oregon State earn a share of the PCC regular season title. He was also selected to an all-tournament team in the 1957-58 season.
In his first year for the Beavers, as a sophomore, Harman contributed mainly on the glass, averaging 4.3 rebounds, to along with 3.9 points per game.
Harman thrived in Civil War matchups with the University of Oregon in his senior season, registering 72 points and 25 rebounds in three games against the Ducks.
After graduating, he was drafted by the St. Louis Spirits with the seventh pick in the fourth round in the 1959 NBA draft.
Harman went on to become one of Hollywood's leading makeup artists, working on popular films such as Chinatown, Christmas Vacation, and Conspiracy Theory.
In 1991, Harman was inducted into the Oregon State University Athletic Hall of Fame.
