Last Game
Ben Wetzler tossed 7 1/3 innings of shutout baseball and Dylan Davis drove in five on the strength of a 4-for-6 night to lead OSU to an 11-2 series-opening victory at Arizona Friday night. Jeff Hendrix also had four hits in the win, which saw the Beavers rap out a season-best 18 as a team. Michael Conforto also had three hits in the win.
TV Note
Fans outside of Pac-12 Arizona will join the game in progress after the completion of the Oregon softball team’s game Saturday. That game is slated for a 3 p.m. start. Fans, regardless of location, can watch the game in its entirety online at pac-12.com or via the Pac-12 Now App.
Streaking At Arizona
The 11-2 victory on Friday night pushed the Beavers’ win streak to six games at Arizona dating back to the 2011 season. The Beavers have outscored the Wildcats, 43-20, in the six games. Oregon State has won its last four over the Wildcats regardless of location.
Wetzler Keeps Moving Forward
Ben Wetzler gave the Beavers their 20th quality start of the season Friday and the left-hander keeps getting better. He won his 15th consecutive decision and the Beavers are 20-1 when he starts dating back to the 2013 season. He lowered his ERA to a Pac-12 best 0.47 with the win and has 29 career victories, which makes him the nation’s active leader.
18 Hits Will Move The Needle
Oregon State’s 18 wins Friday night marked a season-high for the club, overtaking the previous best of 15 against Wright State. The Beavers pushed their team batting average to .288 from .281. In Pac-12 play that average stands at .302 while opponents are hitting just .209. Dylan Davis is 13-for-29 (.448) in Pac-12 games to lead Oregon State.

• Kavin Keyes needs just one hit to give him 194 for his career, which would move him into atie for 10th in a career at Oregon State.
• Michael Conforto is tied with Brian Barden for third-most RBI in a career at OSU; both have 154. Conforto needs 15 more to tie Andy Jarvis for second-most.
• Oregon State is 17-1 this season when allowing five runs or less.
• Logan Ice threw out his 15th runner of the season Friday. Opponents are 5-for-18 (.277) against him.
