Last Game
Ben Wetzler allowed just one run and four hits over nine innings and Danny Hayes drove in three to pace the Beavers to a 6-1 win over Texas A&M Sunday at Goss Stadium. The win gave OSU a Corvallis Regional Championship.
Great Attendances
Oregon State sold out Goss Stadium within 90 minutes of all-session tickets being made available to the general public on Wednesday. NCAA Regional attendances should be a good indicator of how packed Goss will be as OSU drew its largest crowd in school history Saturday against UCSB (3,535). OSU also had its third-largest (3,362 against TAMU) and fifth-largest (3,222) against UTSA. OSU is averaging 2,580 per game, good for 26th nationally.
Against KSU, The Big 12
Oregon State has a small history against Kansas State and current members of the Big 12 Conference. OSU and KSU are deadlocked, 3-3, and the Wildcats' visit to Corvallis the first by either team to the others' home field. OSU is 14-17 all-time against the Big 12, including a 1-4 mark in the postseason.
In Super Regionals
Oregon State is 6-3 all-time in NCAA Super Regional games, but 6-1 in games played in Corvallis. OSU swept through Super Regionals in both 2006 (Stanford) and 2007 (Michigan) and went 2-1 against USC in 2005.
Last Time Vs. K-State
Oregon State's last meeting with Kansas State was at Tony Gwynn Stadium in San Diego last season. The Beavers won 13-5 behind home runs from Michael Conforto, Jake Rodriguez and Danny Hayes. Matt Boyd also pitched 4 2/3 innings for the win. He allowed four hits and one earned run.
Hit Streaks
Both Ryan Barnes and Dylan Davis have been hot at the plate, as of recently, and carry deep streaks into the weekend. Barnes is at 10 games - one shy of his season long - while Davis has hit safely in eight straight.
Singles
The Beavers' 48-10 record is the team's best ever mark through 58 games. It is two wins better than the 2005 team's 46-12 record.
Oregon State has won 14 of its last 15 games at home.
