This Is How It Shapes Up
Texas A&M and UC Santa Barbara are playing an elimination game Sunday at 12:05 p.m. with the winner moving on to play the Beavers at 5:05 p.m. Should A&M win, the Beavers will be the visiting club. If UC Santa Barbara wins, Oregon State will be the home club.
We Aren't Predicting Anything
The bios in these notes list only career statistics against UCSB. The Beavers have played the Gauchos in each of the last three years, but last squared off against Texas A&M in the 2009 Fort Worth Regional. The only member of the 2013 Beavers on the 2009 roster was Taylor Starr who did not play that year due to injury.
Advancing To The Finale
Oregon State is 11-0 in NCAA Regional games at Goss Stadium since the NCAA went to the Super Regional format in 1999. The Beavers are 20-3 all-time at home in the postseason, and are on an 11-game win streak, last losing to USC, 9-8, in the 2005 Corvallis Super Regional.
Fantastic In One-Run Games
Oregon State's 2-0 record in one-run games at the regional has only served to advance how successful the Beavers have been in such games this season. OSU is 12-2 in one-run games, including posting a 7-1 mark at home.
Barnes' Big Day
Ryan Barnes' home run and two RBI Saturday extended his hot streak. The senior enters Sunday's game on a nine-game hit streak where he is 17-for-36 (.472) with two home runs, three doubles and nine runs batted in.
Singles
Fans should note that parking on campus near Goss Stadium will be $10 per vehicle.
Oregon State's 47 wins is the most by a Beaver team through 57 games. The 47 wins are three shy of tying the 2006 Beavers for most in a single season.
OSU's starting staff has a 34-6 record and 2.08 ERA this season.
