Nine Beavers on Athlon Preseason All-Pac-12 Team

Nine Beavers have been selected to the Athlon Preseason Pac-12 Conference teams, the third-most in the league.
The roster is headed by first team honorees wide receiver Brandin Cooks, defensive end Scott Crichton, cornerback Rashaad Reynolds and placekicker Trevor Romaine. Crichton and Cooks have already been selected as preseason All-Americans by other publications.
Cooks enters the year with 1,542 yards and is on pace to join Mike Hass and James Newson as the Beavers’ all-time 3,000-yard receivers. Crichton was a Pac-12 First Team pick a season ago and already ranks among the school’s career leaders for sacks, tackles for loss and forced fumbles. Reynolds enters the season with a team-high 25 consecutive starts. Romaine has made 12 consecutive field goals and owns 171 career points.
Athlon Second Team honorees include center Isaac Seumalo, tackle Michael Philipp and punter Keith Kostol. Running back Storm Woods and guard Grant Enger garnered selection to the publication’s Third Team.
Cooks, Reynolds and Enger are also co-team captains, along with quarterback Sean Mannion and linebackerMichael Doctor.
The Beavers return to the practice field in preparation for the 2013 season Mon., Aug. 5 for the start of camp. OSU opens the year at Reser Stadium against Eastern Washington, Sat., Aug. 31 at 3 p.m. on the Pac-12 Networks.
