Last Game
Oregon State hit three home runs Sunday to sweep California with a 6-4 win in front of 3,121 fans at Goss Stadium. Tyler Smith both hit solo shots in the win, which gave the Beavers four sweeps in seven Pac-12 Conference series this season. Joey Wong went 4-for-6 with three RBI while Adalberto Santos also drove in three with a 3-for-4 performance.
Going For 18
Oregon State is looking for its 18th consecutive win over Portland dating back to the 2007 season. OSU's longest win streak over the Pilots is 21 games from 1959-69. The game is the first neutral site matchup between the clubs since OSU won, 4-1, in a game that was started at PGE Park but later completed in Corvallis due to rain in Portland.
Non-Conference Action
Oregon State has two remaining non-conference games during the regular season - Wednesday's game versus Portland and a May 21 matchup with Oregon at Goss Stadium. The Beavers are 20-4 in non-conference games this season, including an 11-2 mark away from Goss Stadium.
Nothing Shy Of Solid
The Oregon State pitching staff has done remarkably well over its last five games. The Beavers have allowed six runs in those five games for an ERA of 1.00. The staff has allowed 29 hits while striking out three. Most notably, the Beavers have walked just six batters.
Rodriguez's Strength Shining
Jake Rodriguez received well deserved attention for his block of home plate Sunday, but it's what teams haven't done against him that speaks volumes. Opponents have not stolen a base against OSU since Utah on April 14. That's a stretch of 11 games. They've attempted seven steals during that stretch.
Singles
The game mark's OSU's fifth and last neutral site contest of the regular season. The Beavers are 4-0 in them.
