Sanchez, Doremus Named Pac-12 All-Academic

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – Senior outfielders Ashley Sanchez and Maggie Doremus were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic First Team by conference commissioner Larry Scott on Friday. Fellow seniors Ally Kutz and Elizabeth Santana were named All-Academic Honorable Mentions.
Sanchez started in 53 games while appearing in all but one of the Beavers’ 58 contests in 2013, batting .288 with a homer and 15 RBIs. She was third on the team with 34 runs scored. Sanchez is earning a 3.61 GPA in human development and family studies.
Doremus appeared in 32 games and made 15 starts. She also started twice in the NCAA Regionals, collecting three hits in six at-bats in postseason play. This is her third time on the All-Academic Team and first selection to the First Team. She is earning a 3.48 GPA in liberal studies.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point and be a significant contributor.
