Anna Taylor Earns CRCA All-Region Honors

May 28, 2013
Oregon State rower Anna Taylor has been named to the 2013 Division I West All-Region First Team, the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced Tuesday. The awards recognize the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains in each of five regions organized into first and second-team selections. It is the second straight year Taylor has received all-region recognition.
Taylor, who is in her third year in the Oregon State program, received all-region honors after helping one of the fastest Varsity Eight boats since head coach Emily Ford's arrival for the 2007 season. Rowing in the stroke seat, Taylor set the pace for the V8 in wins over Gonzaga, Northwestern and Oklahoma.
Nominated student-athletes are evaluated on the strength of their team's regional finish, coach recommendations and 2,000-meter ergometer score. Nominees must be eligible student-athletes who have competed in their teams' varsity boat in 75-percent of races this season.
These athletes will be eligible for All-America awards selections following the NCAA Rowing Championships.
