David Fink Named To Division I PING All-Region West Team

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State junior David Fink was named to the Division I PING All-Region West Team, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced on Tuesday.
Fink led the Beavers with a scoring average of 71.47, the fourth-best single-season mark in school history, and 16 sub-par rounds despite missing two tournaments with an illness. He had five top-10 finishes to equal the fifth most in a season in Oregon State history, including tying for second place at both the Gifford Collegiate in San Martin Calif., and Amer Ari Invitational in Waikoloa, Hawai'i.
The Kailua, Hawai'i native shot a career-best 10-under 70-69-67--206 at the NCAA Tallahassee Regional to finish in a tie for fifth place and equal the fifth-lowest three-round score in Oregon State history. His other top-10 finishes came at the Mark Simpson Invitational in Erie, Colo. (t-10th) and Oregon Duck Invitational in Eugene, Ore. (t-8th).
Fink equaled his career-best score with a 5-under 67 at both the Pac-12 Preview in Hillsboro, Ore., and the NCAA Tallahassee Regional and shot 10 of his 34 rounds in the 60's. His career scoring average of 74.29 is currently the fourth best in Oregon State history.
Fink joins All-Americans Diego Velasquez and Alex Moore as Oregon State golfers to be named to the Division I PING All-Region Teams.
